Disabling 802.1x authentication for wired connections (Linux)

If you are using 802.1x authentication, then the wired connection won’t work… so you will need to disable it.

Interface

• Open the interface for managing connection profiles, in the terminal:

nm-connection-editor

• Look for the Ethernet connection profile matching the one you use for MiNET
• Double-click on it, a window will open with all the information for this profile
• Go to the tab named 802.1X Security
• At the top left, uncheck the box saying something like Use 802.1X security for this connection
• Save

Connection

Unplug and replug your computer, you should now be able to connect.
